This is Harriet’s debut recording; she is a hugely talented accordionist and singer from Shropshire and still only sixteen years old. Originally classically trained, she is now concentrating more on traditional Celtic music and song and was the winner of the coveted Danny Kyle Award at the Celtic Connections Festival in 2003 and the Tradition Awards in 2001.

Harriet is joined on this CD by Phil Cunningham on piano, cittern and whistle (he also produced the album), Ed Boyd on guitar and Mark Maguire on bodhran. There are twelve tracks, mixed between traditional tunes and some more modern tunes, she has also included some of her own compositions, which have the depth and maturity of an older person. She sings four songs, with a clear pure voice and has some fantastic interpretation, as has her accordion playing.

Every few years we see a young musician rising to great heights for their tender years; Harriet is one such youngster - this is a cracking first CD.
