Happy New Year!! Hope you all had a great Christmas. The dreadful Tsunami Disaster, which struck Asia, claiming such loss of lives and destruction, has ended 2004 on a devastating note, and brings everything into perspective for us all, and I'm sure will take years to rebuild - not only towns but people's lives just to be able to move on with confidence.
2004 has been a very busy and successful year for me. Highlights to include the launch of my debut CD with Greentrax at Celtic Connections in Glasgow, my studio session / interview on the Andy Kershaw Show on BBC Radio 3, and my first year of touring many folk clubs - which I've got to say I thoroughly enjoyed, and would like to thank the people that put me up whilst on tours.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to say thankyou to you all for your support over the past year, and any support in 2005 would be gratefully received!
2005 is looking to be an interesting year. I'm off up to Celtic Connections in a couple of weeks for a "Master and Apprentice" concert with Phil Cunningham - should be a laugh! Then in February, I'm at Cheltenham Folk Festival, which will include a slot with Sharon Shannon and Eliza Carthy - WOW! There's one or two other things in the pipeline, I'll let you know at a later date.
Festivals which I am performing at in 2005 include Holmfirth, Gower, Ely, Warwick, Broadstairs, Walton, Reedham and more to be confirmed.
You can view an up-to-date gig list on my website at: www.harrietbartlett.com, plus reviews, photographs etc...
Well once again, Happy New Year, and I hope to see you at a gig somewhere soon.
Love Harriet x
